Overwhelming

I've probably just been hanging out on too many fashion blogs lately, so I hope you excuse my bias to blog more or less about inspiring fashoin designers at the moment.
Another collection you couldn't come by during the last few months was the fall/winter 2011/12 collection by Ulyana Sergeenko. The russian photographer and fashionista overwhelmed me with her debut collection. Creating an astonishing picture with "the gorgeous 40’s inspired aesthetic along with the perfectly prim hair, coral red lips and the brilliant autumn color palette", her dresses are simple yet very elegant.
I'd like to share some of my favourites with you:

And as if that wouldn't have been enough, she recently presented her spring/summer 2012 collection, which is - you guessed it - almost even more breathtaking. "Driven by the Brigitte Bardot goes to the Soviet Union idea, she created an amazing blend of Hollywood glam and East European rustic chic. The brilliantly talented designer stayed true to her signature vintage/utterly feminine aesthetic."

Frühlingsgefühle

Hey cuties!

Nothing much to report here, except a little progress on my quilt.

It looks indeed very spring-y, doesn't it?

A Rather Pretty Than Strange Case

Hey darlings,

how are you doing? I hope you can enjoy the beautiful weather!
I recently stumbled across this etsy shop called Jekyll und Kleid. The shop owner, Sabine Kesel, is a very skilled seamstress who makes beautiful dresses which are simlple yet elegant and feminine. I think some of them are quite inspirational:

Once Upon A Time...

Maybe some of you remember my rather ambitious plan to knit a sweater. And maybe those of you who remember have been wondering what had happened to it?
The answer is: nothing exciting. I just somehow lost a bit my motivation, thats why I haven't worked in it quite a long time. But recently, I got the urge to finish it:

It looks a bit sad an crumply, lying on the floor, it looks really better when worn. Well, the point of time of finishing it is probably not the best one, since it's almost 20°C outside, but well, I can wear it next winter!

I made a lot of mistakes, regarding it's the first actual piece of garnment I ever knitted, but I also had the chance to learn a lot about how knitwear is constructed.

The sleeves are probably my favourite part of the cardigan. I know, they look very tight, but the whole thing is actually extremely elastic.

The back part. I had to start over three times, but I think it really was worth it.
Over all, I'm quite proud of it. Unlike when sewing, I did not only sew the parts together, but actually made the fabric itself, out of not more than a thin thread, Yes, knitting can be very facinating xD.

I had some wool left over, so I knitted matching gaiters. First, I wanted to decorate them with braids, too, but then I got lazy and knitted a simple ribs:

And in case you've been wondering: no, I haven't given up knitting after that, the next project already started:

Award-ed

I got this extremely nice award from Ette:

The rules are to tell 7 things about yourself and then tag 15 other blogger. I say it right now, I won't be able to list 15 people here, so to all of my readers: feel free to take the award, I'm giving it to all of you (-.^)

So, then, I'm sure everyone is eager to get to know seven personal things about me, right? So, I thougt in order to make it not too boring, I tell you 7 "favourite" things.

Favourites:
- colour: green
- flower: rose
- piece of clothing: the corsett
- poem: Stufen by Hermann Hesse
- book: the 7 Harry Potters
- band: Die Ärzte
- movie: Moulin Rouge with Nicole Kidman

Any other favourites of mine you want to know? ^^

Half Square

Hi,

during the last days, I worked a bit on my quilt. Maybe you remember the round middle part, which had to become square eventually, since I want my quilt to have four preferably right-angled corners eventually (which may not sound like the bet idea, considering I'm using hexagones, but well, you get what I mean).
So I turned half of the circle into a square:

Next, I'll sew the side part to it.

Lace In Chains

Hi my lovely readers,

I hope you can enjoy the nice almost-spring weather, I personally love this feeling when seasons change (^.^).

As some of you may have seen already, I wrote a little Lolita guide to inform the visitors of my blog. It's the first edition and there's surely potential for improvement. Maybe the experienced Lolitas among you might throw a glance at it and tell me what you think? That would be very nice (^.-)

Then, I'd like to show you a little project I just finished. Ages ago, I bought this lace blazer from H&M. I like the fabric a lot, but never approved of the cut, so I never really wore it. So I decided to turn it into a short jacket.

From the fabric I cut off, I made a new, slightly bigger collar.
Because wanted it to be unique and special (I mean, come on, who wants to be mainstream?! xD), I hand-sewed a heavy, golden chain on the hems.

I like the contrast of the light pink lace and the cold metal, altough I didn't anticipate that the jacket would, in the end, effectively be quite heavy...

Hexagones

Heyhey,

how was your weekend?
I spent a lot of time cutting hexagones for my quilt, definitely not my favourite part of the whole patchwork process (>.<)

Btw, I updated my sales (again), I decided to sell some books I don't read anymore... check it out if you're interested (^.-)

Just Lovely

Hello my lovely readers!

Although I don't have any money left, especially not for expensive brand dresses, I recently was at the Innocent World homepage looking at the sales when I noticed how many new pretty items they actually have. So since youre already used to inspirational fashion posts (^.-), I'd like to share the prettiest with you.

Berangère Rose Jsk

Such a beautiful print! It reminds me a bit of Baby's Chained Berry Jsk (I don't know why excactly). Though I don't like the printed-on bows too much, they look a bit flat and... well, sad. But the roses are very pretty!

Rose Print Flare Jsk

It looks a lot like that beautiful Mary Magdalene dress I'm still not sure what it's name is, doesn't it? I especially love the neckline.

Tailored Bustle Jsk

So simple and elegant! I like it has a back bustle, which makes the dress a little more cute and fancy (^.^)

Square Neck Babydoll Jsk

I'm not that much into babydolls, because, lets face it, no matter what, you just look pregnant wearing one. But this one has such a lovely top, and it comes in those lovely pastel colours that make it look like candy. If I was very decadent (yeah, well, even more), I'd want it as a sleeping gown - imagine you'd feel like a princess!
