Hi dolls,

the comic above illustrates pretty well how I felt about my hair lately, so it was time to get a real haircut. I haven't been at a hairdresser's in like three years, I cut my hair myself in that time, but that obviously doesn't work anymore for short hair.

So I got a shoulder-length bob. I really really like it, I had forgotten about how much I like having short hair. Long hair is fine and all, but I'm too lazy to make fancy hair-dos every day anyways (^.-).

And while I'm at it, here are some (more or less) recent outfits of mine I'd like to share:

Haarsträubend

Hi cuties,

I dyed my hair green-turquoise! 

It's something I've wanted to do for a while, but I was also a bit scared the bleaching might not agree with my already dry hair... but the prospect of flowing mermaid-hair was a stronger motivation (^.^) and if it would have gone horribly wrong, I could always have cut it off, I'm not that emotionally attached to my hair tbh.

I used Schwarzkopf Blonde L1++ to bleach my hair, I did some research beforehand and this seemed to have good reviews. I bleached three times in total - about two month ago I had dyed my hair with henna, and it seems that it's really hard to get the red dye out, my hair was still quite orange in places after the third bleach. Nevertheless, I then proceeded to apply Directions in Apple Green and Turquoise, and it seemed to cover quite well.

I'm very very impressed how my hair survived the process. As I mentioned, I tend to have dry hair, and I was also scared I might lose my natural waves. I bleached three times in three days and drenched my hair in between in coconut oil, hair masks and conditionner. Additionally, I cut my hair after the third bleaching about 8cm, I had split ends anyways, so it was time. Right now, it's still recovering, but I'm soooo in love with it (*.*)

Five Years

Today five years ago, I wrote the very first post on this blog. Amazing, isn't it?
One reason why I kept this blog going all this time is because it's like a journal. Not a very personal one, but it still shows how I developped, how my writing, my tastes, my fashion style, my crafting and sewing skills changed (for the better, I hope). My blog is this small space where I can reflect on my adventures and share them with the world, and I'm grateful for that.

Summer's Ending

Hello my dear readers,

I know, I know. I haven't posted anything for a loooooong time, and I apologise. I've been busy, I had a wonderful summer, met new and old friends, and, most important (for me), I went through a huge personal progress. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to keep this blog active, but then I realised that I kinda missed this little space here, soooo I'm back! (^.^)

last friday, I got my very first tattoo! I was very excited (^.^)

Mine. For ever.

I knew about the motive for ages, but never really had the courage... but now I finally, finally have some everlasting ink on my right arm and I'm so super happy with it!

I hope you all had a wonderful start into the year 2014! May all your wishes be fulfilled, may all your dreams come true and may all your goals be achieved!
I hope some of you will stay with me and my blog in the new year. I know, I haven't written a lot here for the past few months, but I'm planning to change that. I have already a lot of posts planned!


Do you have any New Year's resolutions?
I personally like to take small resolutions regularly during the year rather than big ones once a year, on which you don't stick to anyways, but this year I do have one: No shopping!
Yes, I want to try not to shop for a whole year. This is going to be quite hard for me, since I loooove shopping, but there are several reasons that lead to this desicion. For example, I do have a lot of stuff already, and also I'd like to spend my money on other things.
To make this goal more realistic, the "forbidden list" includes mainly clothes, shoes, accessoires and jewellery, knick-knack and so on. It excludes, however, expenses for fabrics and sewing materials, travelling, concerts, body modifications (such as piercings and tattoos, I'd surely like to get one or two) and super rare items, like brand Lolita dresses from my wishlist or band shirts from concerts, they're always a nice memory (^.^).
I hope these guidelines will make it easier for me to actually stick to the plan.

Knowing that I can't shop in 2014, I naturally spent more in 2013 (I'll make another post about this). Human psychology works in funny ways sometimes.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to 2014, and I hope so are you!

(Re-)Apprende Français

Bonjour Chéries,

I'm currently planning to go back to university in february and finish my studies, and in order to be finally fluent in french (such a beautiful language), I decided to attend a college in the french-speaking part of Switzerland.
And as a preparation, I'm re-learning French now. See, I had 8 years of French classes during my school career, so it's almost embarrassing to say that I'm nowhere near speaking it fluently. Reading is fine, but I just don't use it enough to be able to express myself. But I thought, hey, learning languages can actually be fun too!
So now I'm reading Harry Potter and watching The Addams Family, both in French.

I made also a new decoration for the kitchen table. Winter is approaching fast, and so is Advent. We had these three blue candles lying around at home, so I thought I'd build something nice around it. I love candles in the winter time!
But man, was it hard to find something to match! I like silver better with blue, but the whole Christmas decorations that are sold now seemed to be golden (>.<)
But I'm quite happy with the result:

Lately, I've been quite addicted to deer, stag, reindeer, moose, fawn... you know, these animals living in the woods, sometimes with antlers, sometimes with cute white dots. I couldn't tell all the differences between the various species, but I still love them!

Snow is coming! Can't wait!

Punk Rock Pony

Hi gals!

Today, I only have an outfit to show you, which I wore on Thursday; 1. August is the national holiday in Switzerland. Not that I'm particulary into festive activities like that, but it also means a free day from work, so I met some friends in the afternoon. Actually, It was too hot for this outfit. But on hte other hand it's too hot in general, no matter what you wear. So I thought I might as well take my petticoat out of the closet again!

Speaking of which, I got a new petticoat from Dear Celine, it's a little shorter than the other one I have and quite pouffy, I really like it (^.^)

As much as I love these shoes, thery're a tinly little bit too small, unfortunately. So I'm thinking of selling them (although I'm not sure yet. They're so awsome!). Maybe one of you is interested? Size is 23,5 cm. I also cleaned out my closet recently, so I'm selling some clothes, if you're interested, check out my sales (^.-)

I know I have been a terrible blogger lately. But I have a good excuse; there's been a lot of change the last few weeks, so I just had almost no free time. To make up for the unexpected hiatus, however, this post will be quite long (^.-)

Real life tetris

I moved again. I struggled with university courses and kind of lost my motivation for going to school, so I'm doing an internship now instead. So I packed my stuff and moved back to my mum's place, because my new work place is much closer from here. Normally, moving can be a rather expensive affair, but luckily I just had to get some new book shelves (pictured above). 

I say luckily because I got a very pleasant surprise this week and for which I have to start now saving up money...:

Vienna calling

Yes yes yes, I can attend the Innocent World tea party in Vienna in October after all! 

It was sold out after three minutes and it had taken me four minutes to finish my application, because the server I used had some problems (apparently, I haven't been the only one with these issues). But some people backed out, so I moved up and got a place. I'm so excited! Last time I was in Vienna was about five years ago, and I always wanted to go back there, it's such an amazing city (^.^).

Of course, I'm also looking forward to meet all the gorgeous Lolitas from Austria and the rest of the world. It's the first official tea party I'll attend, but I'm sure it'll be great. Is anyone of you lovely readers also attending?

Lavender & Lace

Besides that, I also did some sewing. For me, I made two things, one of which is a black underbust corset. I've wanted to sew one for ages, black and simple, so I can wear it with different styles.

Well, in the end it was not just simple black. I had some lace fabric from another project left over, so I doubled it with black cotton.
Looking back, I think I should have done the same with the edging instead of taking normal cotton bias tape, but oh well. I'll see how it goes and if it's too horrible, I can always change it.

Similar to the corset vest I made in spring, it's short enough to wear it with a petticoat respectively a Lolita outfit. I made the pattern myself, nothing exciting, just a normal corset pattern consisting of five panels per side.

For the lining, I took a leftover of mint coloured cotton fabric with little polkadots. Isn't it cute? I like it when my clothes look pretty from the inside too (^.^)

The second garment I made is a dress/top (depending on what you consider still to be a dress xD).
I used this very light jersey that is super comfortable to wear but really impractical to handle. So it turned out not very perfect.

However, I love this colour so much, so I'm going to wear ir anyways. Now I just have to come up with an outfit that doesn't make it look like a nightgown...

The tiny bow buttons are a little darker than the fabric but otherwise match it really good. That was a coincidence, I had them in my collection for some time without knowing what to do with them.
I really like this kind of top/dress, maybe I'll make another one, I have the same fabric in cream lying around somewhere (^.^).

So, that's what's new so far. Well, actually, there is more, but it's not blog-worthy yet. But don't worry, I hope I can write about it soon. Until then, I hope you keep posted!
