Hi dolls,

I'm travelling a lot at the moment and in the near future, for vacations and lolita conventions, and in between I'm glued to the sewing machine, all of which makes me very very happy (^.^)

However, there are some purchases I made this summer that I haven't shown you, which I'd like to catch up on before I forget it (if you follow my instagram you've already seen them though).

I also have an outfit to share with you! I had the chance to dress up a bit on sunday (^.^) I feel like this outfit represents my current style and preferences quite well, and it makes me happy how effortless I can put it together - after purchasing and selling many many garments, my wardrobe has finally reached a somewhat coherent state, yay! (*.*)

Material Girl

Hi dolls,

last year, I made the resolution to shop less. I didn't want to restrict myself to no shopping at all, there were some exceptions allowed. Despite that, I still broke my resolution a few times, but not too often, so it's still ok. It was a good experience, as I asked myself more often; do I really need this? The answer was usually no. In the end, I didn't spend less money, but instead of cheaply-made fashion I invested more in travelling, tattoos and concerts, and that's certainly a big improvement!

I really hope to keep this trend going in the future, but despite all efforts, I still love to shop, which already resulted in several purchases I made this year. Hooray for shopping haul posts! (^_^)

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, limited edition for The Franklin Library, published 1979, illustrated by Herbert Trauss.
Probably the most expensive book I own (except for art and text books), but when I saw this treasure on ebay, I just couldn't resist.

Bound in leather, with gilt edging and gorgeous illustrations - the bibliophiles amongst you will definitively understand.

If you're less attracted by the beauty of books, it's still a great novel. Especially if you wear Lolita fashion, you should know it, not because it shares anything with it except for the name, but because many people still associate the fashion with the idea of the nymphomaniac nymphettes.

Also, it's kind of a classic and therefore should be part of general knowledge anyways.

 

Novala Takemoto - Kamikaze Girls.

I already own the paperback, but I definitvely wanted a hardback copy, simply because it's pretty, again. The book-jacket is super adorable, and if you remove it, the sophisticated black spine appears... asthetically perfect for the ultimate Lolita (talking about the fashion here again!) manifesto, right?

I already wrote about my trip to the Leipzig Bookfair, but not about the purchases I made there. I was especially smitten by the artist section in the manga/comic hall, that's where I found these treasures:

I already showed you the jellyfish necklace from caffecupcake, but it's so adorable, so here it is again!

Love - Der Fuchs by Fédéric Brrémaud and Federico Bertolucci.
There was a selection of comics of this series featuring all kinds of animals, but I fell in love with the fox story. There's no text in it at all, but the drawing and colours are so amazing!

Madeleine by Antonia Mahlke.
It's so cool how many of these talented artist that exhibitioned their work had little booklets and mangas printed, and I really like to support indie artists, they put so much time and effort in their work, but it's really hard to get recognition.
I fell in love with this booklet, it's again a story without text (I see a pattern here... but I love how pictures can tell a story, and sometimes a bad dialogue ruins all the art).

Box of dreams.

55 members of the "Milk&Chocolate" circle on Animexx contributed to this book with an illustration under the theme "dreams". It's an amazing collection!

Furthermore, I did some online shopping... I really like getting parcels in the mail, it's like you make a gift to yourself, since you have to wait for it to arrive (*.*)

Hello my dears.

since we're already talking about shopping; maybe some of you remember the resolution I took at the beginning of the year, which includes not to shop for a year.
Well, I must admit, I'm doing better than I expected xD. I purchased something at Hellocon, an order from qutieland arrived (which I had placed in december 2013, so it doesn't count), and I stumbled upon some Lolita dreamdresses which I couldn't help but buying (already mentioned, but this is something I allowed myself from the start).

At the beginning of summer (remeber, when it was really hot), I bought a bikini, which was kinda nescessairy. I hadn't bought a new bathing suit for ages and the old one was litteraly falling apart.

It's from modcloth and hence quite expensive, I saw it in spring and thought, "oh, if it was on sale, I could maybe afford it". BAM, some weeks later it was indeed on sale, and I couldn't resist anymore. It's so beautiful and worth every penny. The colour! The tiny (embroidered!) anchors! And it fits like a glove. It's great the top and the bottom are sold seperately, so you can make sure to get the right size. Honestly, if  I could, I would spend sooo much money on modcloth, they sell so many amazing things *sigh*

But that's not the only thing I purchased. Those who know me know I have a big big weakness for shoes. So despite all, these are the shoes I got so far this year:

T-straps by Deichmann.
You probably spotted them already in my outfit post last week. I bought them when I went to Hamburg with my family during Ascension and realized I had forgotten to bring some elegant shoes with me... we went to see the Lion King Musical and I couldn't possibly wear chucks! Back at home I found them to be not only very comfortable, but also astonishing versatile. The colour is somewhat beige-greyish and goes with almost everything, not to mention the cute style and convenient heel height, so I'm wearing them quite often and didn't regret this purchase once (^.^)

High heels in light pink by Pin Up Couture.
This brand makes the most adorable shoes, and despite the ridicoulously high heels they are not that hard to walk in. I ordered them after I had sold some things over my etsy shop and didn't know what to do with all that money, haha.

Sandals from Deichmann again.
I've been wearing a lot of casual classic lolita/mori/whatever style this summer, and these shoes just went perfectly with my outfits without making my feet melt (I'm not a summer person, I despise the heat).

Mint Lolita shoes from Antaina.
I ordered them on qutieland last year, but they have a looooong producing and shipping duration, so they only arrived in march or something. They're very comfortable and I love mint anyways, so no regrets again (^.^)

Back From The Dead

Hi lovelies,

I haven't written anything here for quite a while, because, to be honest, there wasn't really something I could have been writing about...
But oh well, lately I've been crafting a bit again and I thought it would be nice to show you what I've done (^.^)

First thing to do was to make a pair of shoes prettier. The shape and everything was quite cute already, but the bows on them kept falling off. Originally, there have been two bows on every shoe, but I had lost one and the others could be torn off easily. Sad! (>.<)

So I made two new bows, took two od the old bows and added some pearls:

I'm really happy with them now, they will go perfectly with classic lolita and are also a little eyecatcher.
Maybe some of you recognise the fabric I used for the bows? It's from a jsk I sewed last year. Speaking of which, I also needed a hair accessoire to wear with that jsk. So I made an alice band adorned with kanzashi flowers, lace and pearls:

Besides that it matches the jsk, I think I can wear it also with mori girl inspired styles, don't you think so too?

And just for the fun ot it, I made up a coord with the jsk and the new accessoires:

The blouse is from Innocent world, brooch is handmade, pearl necklace is from ebay and the deer necklase is  from sheinside.

While I was at it, I made another alice band, this time using fake flowers and leaves. I guess I thought about a spring forest fairy or something like this, haha (^.-)

Besides that, I got two new hats. You know how much I love hats, and I wanted something to wear in spring and summer. So I bought two big simple straw hats and adorned them too:

For the first one, I used big pink orchids.

On the second hat, I addes yellow lillies and white chiffon fabric, tied to a bow in the back:

Now I only hope summer will come soon, so I can wear my new hats (^.^). Are you looking forward to summer too?

Today I felt like dressing in white and black.
