Lolita Blog Carnival: 1 Piece, 4 Seasons

Hi cuties,

I didn't participate on LBC for the last few weeks, I'm sorry for that. This had nothing to do with the topics, which are really interesting every week, I just never managed to take the time out of my day. But this week, the theme is so great and a perfect excuse for a little break between studying (^.^). The task is to take one piece of your Lolita wardrobe and coordinate it for every season!

I chose my Innocent World Octavia Jsk. I'm a lot into Classic Lolita at the moment, and this dress is basically the base of my Classic wardrobe.

I only posted one outfit with it here so far, but the coordination possibilities are endlessly, since it's rather simlpe and very versatile.

Autumn

Blouse: handmade by me
Sweater: H&M
Socks: New Yorker
Shoes: Deichmann
Bag: Loris
Argyle is probably my favourite pattern when it comes to check designs. Autumn is also the season to cuddle up in comfy sweaters, and this particular one is really soft and warm. I chose a white blouse and bag, so the pattern wouldn't be disturbed too much.

Winter

Fake fur collar: H&M
Blouse: Innocent World
Cardigan: handmade by me
Socks: Bodyline
Legwarmers: handmade by me
My favourite season! Lolita is made for winter, you can wear layers and layers of cute clothes (*.*). I went with lots of cream/off-white for a wintery feeling. I put the blouse over the jsk, so the nice ruffly hem would peak out under the cardigan. Of course, I'd wear long tights under the socks, they just looked funny in the picture so I removed them.

Spring

Blouse: Innocent World
Pearls: Ebay
Shoes: Ebay
Ankle socks, lace tights: H&M
Umbrella: Lisbet Dahl
Imagine, when the snow has melted away, and it's getting warmer again, already a little hint of summer in the air. You take a stroll through fields and along woods, accompanied by the first butterflies, enjoying the little green sprouts that are slowly working their way through the cold ground towards the sunlight.

Summer

Bolero: handmade by me
Bag: handmade by me
Lacey ankle socks: H&M
Shoes: Bodyline
I really, really, really don't like wearing Lolita in summer. It's just too hot to wear a blouse or long socks. So please forgive me for this outfit being rather inspired than truly Lolita.
To give it a fresh look, I coordinated the jsk with lots of pink. The bolero and the socks are actually of the same colour, a really light pink. The bag is flashier, but I adore the chocolate print. (^.-)

I didn't include lots of accessoires or any headwear, because I often add these after I got dressed and depending on my mood. I also noticed I don't really have a lot of headdresses that go with these outfits, so I'd probably make a nice braided hairstyle or something.

I hope you enjoyed this post! These lovely blogging Lolitas are also paticipating:

Lolita Blog Carnival: Lolita Inspiration

Hi my dear readers,

you see it right: I finally came down to participate at LBC again!

This week's topic is Lolita Inspiration and can be interpreted individually. So I decided to take the opportunity and show you the Lolitas from all over the world that inspire me most.*

Duplica-Chan

For me, Duplica is the incarnation of the perfect Lifestyle Lolita. Although I don't agree with all of her outfits and tastes (but we all know there's no accounting for taste), I admire her love of fashion and her enthousiasm encourages and inspires me to wear Lolita as often as possible.

Ferderica from Vanilla Syndrome

I love her refreshing punky style, also outside of Lolita, while she still looks beautiful and elegant. And her wig collection is amazing, she achieves to look different in every new outfit.

Caramea from New Vogue Chlidren

I'm especially inspired by her amazing Classic Lolita Outfits. So elegant! Plus, she blogs often about her adorable tea parties, it's always a real treat to read her blog.

Pastelbat

Actually, she doesn't wear Lolita that often, but nevertheless, her creepy-cute style ist so amazing! She did not only perfect the image of pastelgoth (which seems to be a quite popular style lately), the mixture of pastel wigs and obscure accessoires and details is also highly inspiring for me.

Zeruda

Unfortunately, she doesn't wear Lolita anymore (>.<). It's such a pity, because her sense of style was incredible! Well, you can't force anyone to wear Lolita, but I still draw a lot of inspiration from her coordinates.

*Of course, there are many more extemely lovely Lolitas that inspire me, but introducing them here would just go beyond the scope. I'm really sorry for that!

Lolita Blog Carnival: My Day In Pictures

Hello my lovely readers!

Well, the title says it already, the topic of this week's Lolita Blog Carnival is to share on day in the Lolita life by taking pictures of what we're doing (^.^).

I chose thursday for this, because it's my day off and I spent it with working for university all day long. I hope you don't get bored!

7.45 am: Good morning!
I always need a cup of coffee first so I actually wake up. While drinking it, I turn on the radion and listen to the news.

8.00 am: Make-up.
For a meet-up or another special occasion, this would take quite some time, but on normal weekdays, I keep it simple: foundation and powder, some eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. I also did nothing special about my hair.

8.30 am: The question: what do I want to wear?

8.45 am: Picture time.
I didn't feel very photogenic that day, so no real outfit photo. Since I had to study all day, I chose something confortable but cute, this always lifts my mood (^.^)

Blouse: Bodyline
Skirt: handmade
Socks: Baby, the Stars shine bright
Shoes: Deichmann
Ring: Claire's
Feather earrings: a gift

9.00 am: Cleaning up.
I have to dust my room almost every day, there's always so much dust! I really have no idea where it comes from...

10.00 am: Studying, part one.

01.00 pm: Break!
I decided to go outside and take a walk. Unfortunately, by this time my camera needed recharging, so I took this picture which shows the view from the kitchen window when I came back (and the camera was recharged).  But the woods are really beautiful these days!

02.30 pm: Tea time.
It had gotten cooler by then, so I rewarmed with a big cup of green tea, which gave me also new energy.

03.00 pm: Studying, part two.

08.00 pm: Crafting.
After thinking a lot during the day, it's nice to work with the hands a little. I decided to work on my patchwork quilt (almost done with the patchworking part, yay!) and listen to music.

So, hopefully you enjoyed this post!

Lolita Blog Carnival: My Style Outside Lolita

Hi lovelies,

it's friday again, and that means Lolita Blog Carnival!

This week's topic is: Your style outside of Lolita.

Well, I like to dress differently every day and I change my style a lot, but at the moment I can narrow my every-day-style down to 3 categories:

Casual Lolita / Lolita-inspired

Jsk: handmade
Cutsew: handmade
Hairbow: Innocent World
Shoes: Deichmann
Especially now, when the weather is getting colder, I like to take out my petticoat again, wearing a nice skirt or jumperskirt with a t-shirt or cutsew and a bolero. I call this "outside Lolita", it's just very toned down. I don't accessoirze as much, make-up and hair are kept rather simple and I prefer to wear normal, elegant heels instead of classical Lolita platforms or rocking horse shoes.

Creepy-Cute (or whatever you want to call it)

Alice band, skirt & legwarmers: handmade
Earrings: handmade
T-shirt: Cupcake Cult
Shoes: Converse
Cardigan & tights: H&M
Yes, I must confess, I fell for it, too. I hope you understand, I'm magically drawn to everything that's either obscure or cute, so how would I be able to resist something that combines the two of them? I feel comfortable wearing black, at the moment I like to combine it with purple/pink or green. I also prefer wearing Chucks with this style, perfect for days I know I have to walk a lot or just don't feel like wearing high heels.

Mori Girl inspired

Merry-go-round necklace: Romwe
Owl jewellery: Claire's
Crochet vest: ebay
Gaiters: handmade
Shoes: Deichmann
(And yes, I'm very into pigtails right now, it's my favourite hairstyle: uncomplicated, cute and hides the fact I should visit the hairdresser's)
Now, when the leaves are statring to turn into the most beautiful autumn colours, I like to dress in natural colours, such as browns and creams. Like this, I still can wear summer dresses, and the layering look is very comfortable (especially when the incompetent people at the university try to regulate the air conditioner!)

I hope you liked it!
If you're interested, here are some more blogs which are participating at this week's blog carnival. Have a look!

Lolita Blog Carnival: 3 Prints You Would Like To See

Hi dolls,

on Lauritas blog, I read about this facebook group Lolita Blog Carnival.
It is basically a community of Lolita blogs, the concept is easy: every week, there is a theme for a blog post. Everyone who participates writes something according to the topic and publishes it on friday. All blogs that participate link each other, so you can read the other articles. (the link list can be found at the end of this post).
So since I was a little clueless what to write about the last few weeks anyway, I thought it would be fun to join the group (^.^)

The theme of this week are 3 prints I'd like to see in Lolita.

1. Bats

I don't know why, since these animals are really adorable and just so perfect for the gothic look, but there seems to be no pretty bat print out there (at least I haven't seen one so far). Imagine a simple background, maybe in dark blue or lilac, black bat silhouettes spread all over, and a nice gothic graveyard border print, also in black. Some black lace, maybe a corset lacing, there we go, I'd absolutely buy this. Moi-même Moitié surely could pull it off very well, or Alice and the Pirates, similar to Vampire Requiem...

2. Grimm's Fairytale of the Frog Prince

As I love all kinds of fairytales, naturally I'd like to see more fairytale-themed prints. An all-over print would be nice, looking like a realism painting, featuring the garden, the fountain with water lilies, then of course the frog and the golden ball (but without the princess or other human beings. After all, the only princess it the one wearing the dress). Imagine all the lovely accessoires: crowns and diadems, water lily-shaped jewellery, a purse looking like a golden ball...

3. Snowflakes

So magical! A dress in blue or white, embroidered all over with tiny perfect snowflakes, completed with elegant sparkly accessoires. This would set me in the right mood while waiting for my favourite time of the year, when everything is covered in soft, white snow...

I hope you enjoyed my first post for Lolita Blog Carnival. The writers of these lovely blogs are also partcipating this week:
