Christmas Presents

Hey everyone!

I hope you survived the x-mas holiday well, with your beloved ones and hopefully nice presents!

I usually do the same thing for everyone - something handmade, but in different variations. This year, I got inspired by Natron, who had this idea last year for Christmas: she decorated a fleece blanket for the sofa with a patchwork border. And that's what I did, too xD.

I was very relieved everyone liked it (*.*)

One present I made was a bit more lavish, that's why I could only make one (^.^) I did some embroidery and turned it into a cushion. Back and frame of the embroidery is a simple patchwork. Do you recognize the fabrics I used?

For my dear penpal Sue, I made a black-purple toilet bag - something you can always use, I supposed. I'm glad that, she too, liked it <3

The purple fabric is actually the same I used for my a-shape dress

As for the lining, I couldn't resist to give the whole thing a little bit of cuteness - anyhow, the colours fit so nicely, don't they?

And for those who are curious, the sparkling surprise of my giveaway:

A necklace with pearls and a sparkling snowflake charm.

Needlework Review 2011

(Hey, this is not only my last post of 2011, but also my 270. post! (^.^) )

Because it's something I like about other sew and crafts blog, I decided to make a retrospection about what I've sewn in 2011:
Totally, I made 4 shirts, 2 blouses, 13 skirts (thereof 2 underskirts), 6 dresses (one for my mum), 4 boleros, 2 corsets, 2 jackets, 2 capes, one coat, one pair of bloomers, 5 bags and countless accessoires (such as gaiters, hairbows etc).
Over all, I think there's quite a wide range of variety, I tried a lot of things, although no pair of trousers. My Lolita wardrobe grew a lot (only look at the number of skirts!).
Highlights were definitely the Steampunk Lolita outfit, my graduation ceremony dress and my favourite black jumperskirt.
I think I really improved my sewing skills during this year, my work became a lot more fitting and particulary more neatly, also thanks to some extremely helpful gadgets, like the ruffle foot or the overlock sewing machine.

How was your 2011?
I wish you a sparkling, glamorous party and a good start into the new year - let's rock it!

(Damn, next time I'l draw the winner by lot again, I don't like making such desicions on my own... but it's obviously my own fault xD )

So now, the moment everyone has beed waiting for:

*drum roll*

The lucky winner of the sparlkling surprise is...

*drum roll*

Congratulations!
That's what she wrote on my question about what she likes best on Christmas:
"So, what do I like best? Hm, my favourite thing is the look on the faces when people open my presents for them. It always gives me a good feeling when I see that my presents are appreciated and that I found just the right things for someone. And wrapping presents! I love that ^^"

So, for the others, please don't be sad, ok?

°~°~°~°

As this will be my last post before Christmas, I wish you all happy holidays and a beautiful Christmas!!

Snow!

Yes, it finally snowed, tons and tons, during the whole weekend - not in Basel, no, but at my mum's place - so I eventually feel like it's really winter (^.^)

I enjoed myself going skiing, it was wonderful!

Here some more pictures of my last two weeks:

Mentos Berry Mix - never saw those before, but they're awesome!

Went to the Body Shop to use a  gift coupon before it would run out and got a silver glitter eyeliner and Moringa body lotion.

Sometimes, we have lectures in this very old auditorium with its very old wooden benches where everyone scribbles something down. It's aways funny to read the messages and look at the tiny drawings, and this week, I found a Harry Potter sketch! Isn't it cute?

Found my cute heart-shaped tea ball a friend once gave me as a gift. Now I can drink loose tea again!

I haven't completely neglected my knitting work, I just never showed the small progresses... in fact, I'm almost done with the second sleeve, yay!

And to end up, some more snow-pictures (*.*)

So, this was my week, How was yours?

If you haven't signed up for it yet, don't forget my Christmas Giveaway! Deadline is tomorrow, so you have only one more day if you want to participate!
