Minty Pleasures

Hi my dears,

I must sadly report that I bought something, again (>.<).
I was knitting another set of hat and gloves, this time in mint, when I saw that adorable cardigan. It's in mint too, super soft, waist length (which makes it perfect to wear with my Lolita dresses and skirts) and on sale. How could I have resisted?
After I was quite obsessed with lavender in the past, with spring coming I switched to mint. In the meantime, I finished knitting, so here's the whole set:

The cardigan is a little more green than the wool I used for knitting.
Since it's quite warm here already, I probably won't use the gloves until next fall, but I liked the pattern so much I wanted to try it. It's the Very Cably Mittens pattern from ravelry. They turned out not too bad, however, the pattern makes them quite short. That's not a problem for me, I have rather small hands. Hovever, if you plan to make them too, maybe see if you need to make them longer.

For the hat, I used the Rose Trellis Beret pattern, also from ravelry. Mine is a lot more knobbly than the original, probably because I used different wool than proposed. It's the same I took for the lavender set, Madeleine from Buttinette in mint.

The pattern is very delicate and detailled. There are even leaves in the pattern included! I learned some new stitches, and also how to crochet roses. I made two different types, the one in the middle is slightly bigger than the surrounding roses.

I'm looking forward to wear my new things (^.^)

Warm & Cozy

Hi Snow Princesses,

as you can see, I finished my knitted scarf! I managed to complete it just before I left for Helsinki, so I would be able to take it with me. I'm very happy how it turned out, it was a lot of work, but I think it was definitively worth it (^.^)

This is the back side. It's not as pretty as the front, but the pattern is still visible a bit.
The problem is, that the scarf tends to fold itself, which is a litte unconvenient (because I want to show off the pattern). So I thought I'll try to iron it very gently, maybe that could help with that.

By the way, I had an amazing time in Finnland. However, you need to be a little patient with the report from Hellocon, because I'm still waiting for some photos and I'm also quite busy at the moment, I'm moving (once more) and also preparing for university which starts in 1½ weeks. So much to do!

Lavender Flourishes For Me In Winter, Too

Hi my dear Snow Princesses,

how are you doing in winter? Do you enjoy the cold, snowy weather or do you prefer to cuddle up inside with a cup of hot chocolate?
I definitively love winter, with all its aspects. One of them is that you can wear many layers of cute, comfy clothes (*.*)

Currently, I'm more into pastels than dark colours. I also needed new wooly accessoires to keep me warm, but because I couldn't find anything pretty I could afford, I decided to get my knitting needles out again and knit them myself!

Hat and gloves are already finished, I'm still working on the scarf. The pattern is not as complicated as it looks like, but you need to concentrate and I'm not a very fast knitter, too. I still hope I can finish the scarf before summer (^.-)

I used Madeleine wool from Buttinette in lavender. It's 100% Merino, super soft and not scratchy at all. The colour is beautiful, and I also like how well the pattern is visible.
I took this pattern for the gloves, the hat I made freestyle. For the scarf, I use this pattern but altered it slighty so it would get wider.

Closet Cleaning

Hey,

how are you? I hope you had all a nice weekend.
Here in Basel it's definitely spring now, no sign of winter left.(More or less) conveniently, I finished my latest knitting work: Another pair of simple, black gaiters:

Well, sooner or late winter and cold temperatures will come back eventually, so I'll just put them into my accessoires box where they can stay during summer (^.-)

Besides that, I also cleaned my closet a little and updated my sales! So, if you've got some money left, have a look =)

Once Upon A Time...

Maybe some of you remember my rather ambitious plan to knit a sweater. And maybe those of you who remember have been wondering what had happened to it?
The answer is: nothing exciting. I just somehow lost a bit my motivation, thats why I haven't worked in it quite a long time. But recently, I got the urge to finish it:

It looks a bit sad an crumply, lying on the floor, it looks really better when worn. Well, the point of time of finishing it is probably not the best one, since it's almost 20°C outside, but well, I can wear it next winter!

I made a lot of mistakes, regarding it's the first actual piece of garnment I ever knitted, but I also had the chance to learn a lot about how knitwear is constructed.

The sleeves are probably my favourite part of the cardigan. I know, they look very tight, but the whole thing is actually extremely elastic.

The back part. I had to start over three times, but I think it really was worth it.
Over all, I'm quite proud of it. Unlike when sewing, I did not only sew the parts together, but actually made the fabric itself, out of not more than a thin thread, Yes, knitting can be very facinating xD.

I had some wool left over, so I knitted matching gaiters. First, I wanted to decorate them with braids, too, but then I got lazy and knitted a simple ribs:

And in case you've been wondering: no, I haven't given up knitting after that, the next project already started:

Snow!

Yes, it finally snowed, tons and tons, during the whole weekend - not in Basel, no, but at my mum's place - so I eventually feel like it's really winter (^.^)

I enjoed myself going skiing, it was wonderful!

Here some more pictures of my last two weeks:

Mentos Berry Mix - never saw those before, but they're awesome!

Went to the Body Shop to use a  gift coupon before it would run out and got a silver glitter eyeliner and Moringa body lotion.

Sometimes, we have lectures in this very old auditorium with its very old wooden benches where everyone scribbles something down. It's aways funny to read the messages and look at the tiny drawings, and this week, I found a Harry Potter sketch! Isn't it cute?

Found my cute heart-shaped tea ball a friend once gave me as a gift. Now I can drink loose tea again!

I haven't completely neglected my knitting work, I just never showed the small progresses... in fact, I'm almost done with the second sleeve, yay!

And to end up, some more snow-pictures (*.*)

So, this was my week, How was yours?

If you haven't signed up for it yet, don't forget my Christmas Giveaway! Deadline is tomorrow, so you have only one more day if you want to participate!

Where Have All The Hours Gone?

Hello everybody,

friday is my day off (yeah, I have only 4 days university - everyone who thinks of studying, I can only recomend it xD), and I'm proud I already finished everything on my to-do-list for toady, even before noon: mended my bicycle (second flat tyre in two weeks - what's the matter with it?), cleaned my room and my part of the flat and did all of my university stuff for this week - well, almost, there's some reading left to do.
So I'm sitting here with my cup of vanilla rooibos tea and wonder how it is possible that it's already four weeks (!!) since I started my studies, time has flown so fast lately! And there's still always something to do...

My knitting work is growing slowly:

It's (hopefully) going to be a short cardigan one day. Currently, I'm working on the second front part, which is a bit boring, because I did it already once, but at the same time, you have to concentrate so that it looks the same as the first piece.
Actually, I also did the back part, but I don't like it, so I'll probably dissolve it and start over new.

In the end, I have another outfit shot for you. I really like this skirt, but it's so short! Really need an underskirt for it.
