I have an unusually big head (physically), which means I have always troubles to buy a hat in a store, because they're just too small. Then again, I'd love to wear more hats, they're just such a pretty accessoire. So I solved the problem in my way.
I made a hat!
Well, I made mini hats before, but this was the first time I made a hat which should eventually fit my head, so I broke new ground there. And I'm quite proud of it because it's all selfmade and actually fits me:
It has flaws and is not perfectly round, which annoys me a little, but I still like how it turned out.
I used a smooth fabric for the hat and a more cord-like one for the hatband and bow. First, I thought I'd make it plain and simple, but then couldn't resist to add some cotton lace and ornamental trim.
