Red Remake

Hi cuties,

maybe some of you remember this red cardigan I sewed once?
I really like it, especially the cut, because I can wear it with Lolita. However, I was never quite satisfied with the pockets. They kept crimping and didn't keep their shape. So I decided to remake them, this time also in a cuter shape! (^.^)

Minnie & Mickey

Hey hey,

I said it before, and I say it again: I love Minne and Mickey Mouse!

So when I saw these cute figurines, I knew I had to make hairclips out of them!

The materials I used: felt, cotton lace, hairclips, hot glue (not pictured) and, obviously, the figurines. Except the clips and the figurines, I had everything at home.
By the way, I made these back in December, so the project didn't interfere with my no shopping resolution.

In order to attach the figurines properly to the clips, I glued them on felt pieces. Then, I glued the clips between the top parts and another felt piece each.

This was a really quick and fun project, and here is the result:

The headband is actually the belt from the skirt which I wrapped around my head (^.^).
I felt like wearing something cute but comfortable, because I went to get my lips pierced:

Wanted these for ages, I'm very happy right now! Eating hurts a little, and everyting is a little swollen up, but otherwise they're fine.

Finnland In February

Hi princesses,

whenever you tell people you go on a vacation in February, they normally expect you to go rather south than north. However, I always enjoyed winter more than summer, and I always wanted to go to Helsinki once in my life. And this year, I have the chance!
When I was in Vienna at the Innocent World Tea Party last autumn, I had a really nice chat with the designer from Cloudberry Lady, who told me about Hellocon, a Lolita convention in Helsinki. I thought about it when I returned home and then decided to attend it. I'm quite exited and looking forward to it!
One of the preparations included sewing a new, warm, fluffy coat (after I sold my old one some time ago.)

Let's just say I really like fake fur (^.-)

I took the pictures with a petticoat underneath, but I can wear it nicley without one, too.
For the buttons, I covered some with the same fake fur as used for the coat.

The lining is really really fluffy, and so far the coat passed the check in swiss winter weather effortlessly, so I'm confident I'll have warm enough in Finnland too.

Btw, have you seen the new Disney movie Frozen? I feel like winter always makes a movie (and especially an animated movie) even more magical (*.*)

Dirndl for Smartphone

Hi dolls,

I don't own a smartphone, my mobile phone has keys and is not internet-ready. But my mom has a smartphone, so I sewed her a phone cover as a Christmas present.

As I mentioned before, my mom and I both like Dirndls, the traditional costumes from Austria and Bavaria. So I had the idea to make a Dirndl-stlye phone case.

It even has a phone-eject-thingy, like the real ones you can buy at stores! (^.^)

I really like the tiny buttons, I think they match the rustic look well.

Hi dolls,

I hope you all had a wonderful start into the year 2014! May all your wishes be fulfilled, may all your dreams come true and may all your goals be achieved!
I hope some of you will stay with me and my blog in the new year. I know, I haven't written a lot here for the past few months, but I'm planning to change that. I have already a lot of posts planned!


Do you have any New Year's resolutions?
I personally like to take small resolutions regularly during the year rather than big ones once a year, on which you don't stick to anyways, but this year I do have one: No shopping!
Yes, I want to try not to shop for a whole year. This is going to be quite hard for me, since I loooove shopping, but there are several reasons that lead to this desicion. For example, I do have a lot of stuff already, and also I'd like to spend my money on other things.
To make this goal more realistic, the "forbidden list" includes mainly clothes, shoes, accessoires and jewellery, knick-knack and so on. It excludes, however, expenses for fabrics and sewing materials, travelling, concerts, body modifications (such as piercings and tattoos, I'd surely like to get one or two) and super rare items, like brand Lolita dresses from my wishlist or band shirts from concerts, they're always a nice memory (^.^).
I hope these guidelines will make it easier for me to actually stick to the plan.

Knowing that I can't shop in 2014, I naturally spent more in 2013 (I'll make another post about this). Human psychology works in funny ways sometimes.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to 2014, and I hope so are you!

(Re-)Apprende Français

Bonjour Chéries,

I'm currently planning to go back to university in february and finish my studies, and in order to be finally fluent in french (such a beautiful language), I decided to attend a college in the french-speaking part of Switzerland.
And as a preparation, I'm re-learning French now. See, I had 8 years of French classes during my school career, so it's almost embarrassing to say that I'm nowhere near speaking it fluently. Reading is fine, but I just don't use it enough to be able to express myself. But I thought, hey, learning languages can actually be fun too!
So now I'm reading Harry Potter and watching The Addams Family, both in French.

I made also a new decoration for the kitchen table. Winter is approaching fast, and so is Advent. We had these three blue candles lying around at home, so I thought I'd build something nice around it. I love candles in the winter time!
But man, was it hard to find something to match! I like silver better with blue, but the whole Christmas decorations that are sold now seemed to be golden (>.<)
But I'm quite happy with the result:

Isn't the deer adorable?

Lately, I've been quite addicted to deer, stag, reindeer, moose, fawn... you know, these animals living in the woods, sometimes with antlers, sometimes with cute white dots. I couldn't tell all the differences between the various species, but I still love them!

Snow is coming! Can't wait!

So You Think You Can Sew?

Hi dolls,

I can finally make the big announcement I've been looking forward to for quite some time (^.^).

I opened my own etsy shop! It's called Medusa Couture and you can find it here.

As I've always wanted to be a fashion designer, I decided to become a wanna-be fashion designer.
No, seriously, I've dreamed about this for a long time and thought, I'd finally make a step and try it. I'll be selling some accessoires, but mostly I'll focus on Lolita clothing, such as dresses and skirts.
I hope my designs will be appreciated, as all the items are handmade with love. Each item is unique or produced in a very small edition.
