Lolita Blog Carnival: 3 Prints You Would Like To See

Hi dolls,

on Lauritas blog, I read about this facebook group Lolita Blog Carnival.
It is basically a community of Lolita blogs, the concept is easy: every week, there is a theme for a blog post. Everyone who participates writes something according to the topic and publishes it on friday. All blogs that participate link each other, so you can read the other articles. (the link list can be found at the end of this post).
So since I was a little clueless what to write about the last few weeks anyway, I thought it would be fun to join the group (^.^)

The theme of this week are 3 prints I'd like to see in Lolita.

1. Bats

I don't know why, since these animals are really adorable and just so perfect for the gothic look, but there seems to be no pretty bat print out there (at least I haven't seen one so far). Imagine a simple background, maybe in dark blue or lilac, black bat silhouettes spread all over, and a nice gothic graveyard border print, also in black. Some black lace, maybe a corset lacing, there we go, I'd absolutely buy this. Moi-même Moitié surely could pull it off very well, or Alice and the Pirates, similar to Vampire Requiem...

2. Grimm's Fairytale of the Frog Prince

As I love all kinds of fairytales, naturally I'd like to see more fairytale-themed prints. An all-over print would be nice, looking like a realism painting, featuring the garden, the fountain with water lilies, then of course the frog and the golden ball (but without the princess or other human beings. After all, the only princess it the one wearing the dress). Imagine all the lovely accessoires: crowns and diadems, water lily-shaped jewellery, a purse looking like a golden ball...

3. Snowflakes

So magical! A dress in blue or white, embroidered all over with tiny perfect snowflakes, completed with elegant sparkly accessoires. This would set me in the right mood while waiting for my favourite time of the year, when everything is covered in soft, white snow...

I hope you enjoyed my first post for Lolita Blog Carnival. The writers of these lovely blogs are also partcipating this week:

  2. Yes to all of these! Especially the bats! A Frog Price print would be very cool to see too, I think there are a ton of underestimated fairy tales that could be featured instead of the constant reuse of things like Alice in Wonderland.

  3. Bats for sure! The should be a bat print with bats only, the bats shouldn't be in the background only.
And I like your frog prince print the best, I love that fairy tale!

  4. Grimm fairytales are a great idea! I would love to see their slightly darker tellings of these tales on a dress.

    1. Yes, you're right, that's a beautiful print, but I'd love one that focuses on the snowflakes itself... =)

  6. I am so addicted to Snowflakes! I would love to see a really princessy OP with a snowflake design for a Winter Party.

I also love bats and would like another print from AatP with bats!

Also, we were just discussing fairytale prints in the local lolita community and The Frog Prince was definitely a popular idea. I would really love to see it since it was one of my favorite stories and it would be cool to carry around a gold ball or frog plush.
