Winter Feeling

Yesterday, I've been taking my camera with me.

Although I took this photo against the sun, I think it turned out quite well, especially the drawing of the sky and the masts you can see in the middle.

Today, I wore something like a Lolita inspired outfit for school (of course with a jacket over it). I got twice a really nice compliment for the skirt, what cheered me up. There happened something strange in school. In English, we had to write an essay, and for the first time since I have to write texts in school mine was too long! I already had 550 words instead of 400 and could have written 200 more. I was glad that when I asked the teacher she said it would still be ok. So far, I always had troubles to come up to the minimum. I'm not sure whether this is because I'm writing my blog now in English (I hope so^^). It's funny, since I'm writing in English, I'm posting so much oftener than before. Well, we will see how the essay turned out...

Inspiring Sunday: Mistress of Puppets

Today, I get some inspiration from sweet dolls. Aren't they cute? It's amazing how detailled their clothes are made.

Advent, Advent, das Schulhaus brennt

Tomorrow is 1. Advent, and then it isn't even a month to christmas! Did i already mention I love christmas? Oh, I do! I can't understand the people who moan non-stop about all the stress they have in december. Why? I mean, finding presents for the ones you love is such a lovely task! If you don't want to be stressed, just don't let you be stressed. Have a cup of tea or hot chocolate, light some candles and read a good book or watch the snow falling outside. What could be cosier?

Sugar Powder

When I woke up this morning, it was all white outside. The first real snow! Because there was such a cosy winter atmosphere, I made for breakfast some hot chocolate with whipped cream (or how we in Switzerland would say, Schoggi Melange) Although I'm not a vegan, I don't eat any meat and don't consume much animal products. But somehow, this wouldn't have been the perfect winter morning without hot chocolate, as an exeption (and by the way, the cookie is vegan xP)

So much snow! I love it <3

Later I went to the town and did some shopping. I bought a wonderful dark red fake leather jacket, wich I've already seen last week, but didn't buy it then. Today, I just couldn't resist...

But, hey, it was on sale! I also bought some very nice lingerie, but I won't show it here. I think this is something private.

Finishing Harry Potter 7 is like destroying the 7th Horcrux of my chidlhood

Monday, I was in the cinema watching HP 7, the first part. As being a HP nerd, I've read all the books several times, some (not all) even in English. So far, the movies weren't my favourite ones, otherwise said, I thought they were quite bad made. So I didn't expect much when I went to the cinema (even if the films are bad, I can't be without having seen them). The fact the film was splitted into two parts seemed to call for commerce, I mean, the other six movies had shortened the story so much you had to have read the book so that you could follow the plot. So why couldn't they do the same with the last one?

But I have to confess, the movie really affected me. It is made so great, I wouldn't have bothered sitting six hours in the cinema. I don't know whether I'm just less critical or if it's because they have a new director or maybe the film is really better. After have seen HP 6 in the movies (it was last year, wasn't it?), I haven't read any more HP, but when I was In the cinema on monday, I suddenly felt quite sentimental. At age of 11, I started reading Harry Potter, and since then he and his friends accompanied me through adolescence. I've learned so much from these books, about friendship and folloing your heart and everything. Finishing the 7th book was already bad enogh, but now the movie era goes to an end, too. Oh, I wish I wouldn't have to wait until summer to see the second part.

To dye or not to dye, that is the question...

I'm thinking about dyeing my hair black-blue again. Right now, it's some strange black-brown, and the roots are not really nice to look at (I hate my original hair colour. It's an ordinary light brown. Uuh.) But I'm not sure whether I want a softer look with a chocolate brown colour or whether I should go back to evil black.^^

Recently, there are Lolitas who say split colour wigs/hair ist the latest must-have. I'm not sure what to think about it. Somehow it looks a bit like you ran out of colour while dyeing your hair.

Maybe for Punk Lolita? I don't really like it. It just reminds me of Cruella De Ville (don't get me wrong, Miss De Ville is one of my favourite Disney villain. But I just can't see the connection to Lolita...)

Anyway, in my opinion there's only one person who looks good with any hairstyle, even with two-coloured hair ;)

Inspiring Sunday: An Ode To Christian Dior

It might not give the impression I were interested in what they call the mainstream fashion business, but in fact, I am. It's so inspiring looking at the newest creations and it's quite interesting seeing these looks flooding h&m and c&a (in much lesser quallity, of course), although I'm not a fashion victim who has to wear always the latest chic.

Theres one of the big fashion houses which was always my favourite. It's Dior. Christian Dior showed 1947 his first haute couture collection, which he called Ligne Corolle. The following éclat made the so-called New Look very popular and is responsible for Paris being still the most important fashion city.

Today, John Galliano is chef-desinger for Dior. While I don't really like his creations for his own label Galliano, I adore what he does for Dior, especially Dior Haute Couture. (Anyway, haute couture clothes are kind of magic for me - even if you can't move in them or even hardly wear them). Btw, did you know that haute couture clothes are almost sewn by hand?

No one cares about your reflexion in the mirror

Recently, I started getting more and more interested in photography. Since there aren't many people around me who are willing being my guinea pigs, ehm, no, models, I had a try in landscape photography:

Coat Reloaded

Remember the coat I made a while ago? Because there were some ugly wrinkles in the front, I had to cut some fabric in the front off. Now, I think it looks much better, the wrinkles have nearly disappeared. I can even wear it without petticoat now!

Yay, I've got 28 readers! As 28 is my absolute favourite digit, I just made a post to celebrate this^^. Laughing is healthy, so this is my favourite Nicht Lustig ever.

It seems to me that Shimotsuma Monogatari, better known as Kamikaze Girls, is the must-have-seen-movie under Lolitas. I've seen it at least three times, too (on youtube. I know this is not really fine, and I think I'll get the film once... but not now. I'm broke^^). But I recently bought the book (in English, of course). I really liked it. As I'm reading quite a lot, I'm pretty ambitious if a book is well written or not. But I enjoyed Kamikaze Girls, it's got lots of funny sequences and isn't even boring when you already know the story. If you liked the movie, I think you might also like the book, especially if you want to read more about Momoko and her view of life. Plus, the language is easy to understand (the book wasn't already translated into German, as far as I know). The story is slightly different than from the movie (the latter is a bit more dramatic, I think), and I was surprised Momoko seemed to be quite sharp-tongued. All in all a very amusing book!

Inspiring Sunday: Ink vs. Sugar

It's sunday again, and again I'm spending too much time in the internet... So I thought about doing every sunday a litte inspiration post. Trisha from Mary Sew sometimes has Steampunk Sunday posts, which really I used to enojoy. So I think it's quite funny sharing things like that.

Today, we go for some lingerie. I love the look of girls with lots of tattoos wearing something very cute and girlish. This gives an interesting contrast between hard and soft. For me, lingerie is the most female item a woman can wear, so there is the contrast even more strong.

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo. What about you? Do you like tattoos or do you think an immaculate body is more beautiful?

Country Lolita Bustle Back Highwaist Skirt

I made my first highwaist skirt! It's got shirring and an ornament lacing on the back, plus lots of ruffles. I immediatley fell in love with the flower fabric when I first saw it, and I think it harmonizes quite well with the cream cotton fabric.
